Xcel Effingham is hosting our 2024 Xcel South Georgia Welding Competition, featuring the welding and fabrication industry in South Georgia, on Friday, February 9th, 9am-1:30pm, at Tanger Outlets in Pooler, GA. Teams of welders from across the region will create their projects and bring them in for judging. While the judging takes place, welders will circulate around to sponsor booths, competing in individual skills challenges and making connections with potential employers. There will be a Pro Category for teams of certified welders or students in dedicated welding programs, and an Amateur Category for novice welders. Cash prizes will be given to winning teams, and individual skills challenge winners will receive gear and equipment.

Xcel Strategies, Inc., is an accredited 501c3 non-profit with the mission of fueling young people with purpose. We do this by training students in Soft Skills, Job Skills, and introductions to the Skilled Trades. Proceeds from this event go to support the work of Xcel in Effingham County, where we currently serve students at SEHS, ECHS, ECCA, Crossroads Academy, and our Xcel Effingham Summer Skills Camp.
